Interactive feedback system tracking change

Plannenmannen, a Dutch social design studio, created the "Nuclear Sitdown" to raise awareness about nuclear energy and the accompanying waste dangers. It will be exhibited at Nemo, an interactive science museum. I was tasked with measuring its impact on interactions, exposure, attitudes toward nuclear energy, and understanding of volume-related aspects to demonstrate its success to future stakeholders.

problem statement

How can we effectively measure the social impact of the Nuclear Sitdown exhibition, considering quantitative aspects like interaction rates and exposure duration, as well as qualitative factors such as attitude transformation towards nuclear technology and comprehension of volume-related aspects.

final design

The final feedback design extends beyond tracking basic metrics in the interactive exhibition, seamlessly enhancing the overall experience. It adds a fun element, rewarding users, making their feedback feel valuable in what might otherwise be seen as a bland experience. Plannenmannen style guide used.

reflection

One important lesson from this project is learning to embrace uncertainty and trust the design process even when faced with a lack of clear direction. Navigating through research challenges due to a vague assignment highlighted the value of perseverance in the face of uncertainties. Trusting instincts and allowing the design to unfold naturally, while summarizing insights at crucial stages, proved beneficial for workflow and motivation. The iterative nature of design taught the importance of persistence and adaptability, guiding my approach in future projects. Consistency and trust in the design process emerged as key elements for success in complex and uncertain endeavors.
